Jim Foster's remarkable career began with service in the United States Navy and tours of duty at Okinawa and Nagasaki. After serving his country, Jim had successful careers in journalism, marketing and public relations. But Jim couldn't have imagined what lay before him when, in 1967, Big Bill France asked Jim to come down to Daytona Beach and help him run NASCAR. Jim's career with NASCAR, International Speedway Corporation and Daytona International Speedway spanned almost 30 years and saw what started as a small, regional sport explode into a truly global entertainment conglomerate. Jim Foster's name is synonymous with NASCAR, International Speedway Corporation, and Stock Car Racing.
